Class, autonomy and the constitution of the revolutionary subject.
The question of the proletariat as a revolutionary subject cannot be resolved either by nostalgia for the forms the workers' movement once took, or by asserting that, since those forms have disappeared, the class whose existence they expressed has also disappeared. Both positions stem from the same confusion: they identify the existence of a class with the historical forms through which, under certain conditions, that class came to recognize itself, organize itself, and act politically.- Agustín Guillamón.
