The Platform of the Anarchist Communists. 100 years!

!00 years agoi, on 20th June 1926, Dielo Truda (Workers' Cause) group published the “Organisational Platform of the General Union of Anarchists”. The group comprised Ukrainian and Russian anarchists who had fled persecution by the Bolsheviks as part of their consolidation of dictatorship across the Russian empire,

The goal of anarchism is to build a stateless and classless society and to achieve this with a revolutionary rupture with the capitalist present. Organisation is everything to the revolutionary struggle.. Anarchists need to also be organised and present in key areas of revolutionary struggle such as-

1. the political -ideological struggle

2. the social- cultural truggle

To assist with an anarchist regroupment, the platform proposed a General Union of Anarchists (GUA) to engage with the working class, agitate and raise class consciousness through class struggle,. The GUA was then organised on a platform consisting of of four principles;

• Theoretical unity

• Tactical unity

• Federalism and

• Collective responsibility

The GUA was to be governed by a committee of delegates to coordinate collective action and political policy. Anarchists have mostly adopted the principles of the platform. Read the 1926 Platform, The link is below.
